Candace Toma won the 7th Annual Canadian Aboriginal Writing Challenge, presented by the Historica Dominion Institute. Since its inception, the writing challenge has become the largest and most recognizable essay writing competition in Canada for Aboriginal youth.
Her story, titled “Ghosts of the Future”, was the winning entry in the 14-18 year old youth category. Candace won a $2500 cash prize, an all expense paid trip for two to Toronto for the awards ceremony, and her story will now be published in a national magazine. Congratulations Candace!
